San Francisco-based Opendoor has launched its new home shopping experience first in Phoenix as it offers home shoppers the ability to view homes on their schedule and submit an offer from their mobile device.
The new 24/7 Open House feature launches today and allows home buyers to visit a home alone in person by getting a unique access code via text message on their mobile device to open the door lock keypad, said Evan Moore, Opendoor’s vice president of products.
“After registering with our system, a sign on the door gives them instructions on how to access the home for this one-time use,” Moore told me by phone. “We’re solving one of the biggest problems of home buying with usually painful coordinating to see the home. People like the no-pressure part of it.”
