University of Arizona planning layoffs

The University of Arizona is planning layoffs to help deal with budget cuts.

The Arizona Board of Regents meets Thursday on the UA campus. The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the Student Union Memorial Center.

Layoffs are looming at the University of Arizona.

School officials soon must decide who stays and who goes in a cost-cutting plan that will mean pink slips for some UA employees.
