When Sean Malone was chosen from more than 200 applicants to lead the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation in 2012, his reputation as a non-profit fundraising dynamo far outweighed any concern, if at all, that his home base would remain in Wisconsin.
After all, the foundation considers itself an international organization. Its board members hail from all over the United States. And Taliesin, Wright’s former summer home and a campus of the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, is in Spring Green, Wisconsin, not far from where Malone lives with his wife and two daughters.
