Cave Creek horses selected for Special Olympics

Dewey and Mr. P left their medals and trophies behind to spend their older years helping people with special needs. Now they have a chance to become champions again.

As for Dean? Shucks. His squat, wide build makes him perfect for this temporary assignment, even if he is an amateur.

The three horses work every day in programs of therapeutic or rehabilitative therapy, adaptive horsemanship and horse-related healing. But later this month, they will be among the competitors at the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games.
