The Recall Councilman Gary Sherwood Committee raised and spent tens of thousands of dollars in March and April, gathering enough signatures to force an election, according to the campaign finance report it filed at the end of June.
The committee picked up the blank petition forms from the city Feb. 20 and dropped off about 4,000 signatures at the clerk’s office April 24.
Around 3,000 signatures were verified by May 13, which exceeded the number needed by a couple hundred, and Glendale City Council voted May 29 to hold a special election Nov. 3 for the required recall.
