A city councilman, citing an improving economy and disparity with other West Valley cities, is asking municipal officials to consider rolling back a 0.7 percent sales-tax increase enacted in 2012.
Vice Mayor Ian Hugh said the city has a responsibility to taxpayers to reduce their fees as conditions improve if it doesn’t hurt city services.
“We need to look at it. We need to stay competitive in the marketplace,” said Hugh following Tuesday’s council workshop.
