Judge denies injunction request to stop college tax hike

A Pinal County Superior Court judge denied a request Monday for an injunction to stop a 20 percent property tax increase from being implemented by the Central Arizona College Governing Board.

Judge Jason Holmberg felt Garland Shreves failed to prove the proposed tax increase caused the plaintiff irreparable harm.

Shreves, head of Citizens for Fair Taxation, requested the injunction.
