McCain sets ‘the record straight’ on need for Resolution Copper

Just days before Freeport-McMoRan announced the suspension of mining in Miami, Ariz., in the wake of declining demand for copper, U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., took to Facebook to counter arguments by the San Carlos Apache Tribe in opposition to a new copper mine proposed near Superior.

Titled “Setting the record straight on the Resolution Copper Mine project,” McCain contrasted current economic conditions on the reservation against projected economic impact of the mine.
