Development would bring 609 apartments, 2 new restaurants to downtown Phoenix

A new 609-unit, seven-story apartment development with two new restaurants is being proposed for an empty 7.6-acre parcel in downtown Phoenix.

The parcel is the largest undeveloped lot in downtown Phoenix.

The city of Phoenix solicited bids earlier this year for a Fillmore Street parcel bounded by Fourth and Sixth Avenues. Part of the city-owned parcel used be home to the Thomas J. Pappas School for homeless kids. The downtown school closed in 2008.
