Every once in a while, someone my age or older comes along with the passion and the will to start a business. Julian Blum founded “Dying to Know” two years ago when he was 80, and Peter Thomas founded Thomas Franchise Solutions at 73. A good idea knows no age limits.

Bill Pohlman retired from Intel several years ago, and recently he wrote to me in response to my column, telling me that his wife Nancy had invented two new products that he says will revolutionize the way horses are fed supplements. They’ve formed an LLC called 707 Ranch to bring them to market.
