Many Province residents are celebrating a newly won victory after its community management company agreed to uphold its “no children” policy, more than two years after residents spoke up about kids living permanently in the 55-plus retirement community.
“We do feel like we defeated the giant,” said Becky Clark.
Becky and her husband Terry Clark were the driving force behind the effort. The couple says it and others have noticed children in the neighborhood who stay longer than the 90 days permitted in the community rules, also called the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs).
It’s a fact that threatens one of the most important motives to live in Province, Becky Clark said. If kids are allowed to live there, many people would never have bought a home in a retirement community in the first place.
