Musical chairs issue settled by split Surprise City Council

Following months of division, discussion, departures and revisions the Surprise City Council Tuesday approved an ordinance change that moves the city attorney position under the direction of the city manager’s office.

The vote was 4-3, with Mayor Wolcott, vice mayor John Williams and councilman Todd Tande in dissent, as they were Aug. 4 with the vote directing this ordinance to be drafted.
