Facing little money, ADOT looks to ‘manage’ Valley traffic

With Valley roads woefully underfunded, the region’s relatively young roads may be in for a different look.

The funding shortage includes more than $7 billion for the city of Phoenix and about $45 billion in the Valley, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation and Maricopa Association of Governments.

With the Valley’s population expected to explode within 20 years, experts are looking at how to manage the traffic better.
