[COLUMN] Burns isn’t playing games with APS

Arizona Corporation Commissioner Bob Burns sent a letter to Arizona Public Service last week asking that it disclose any contributions it made to independent expenditure campaigns in the 2014 Corporation Commission races. The utility is widely believed to have spent big-time in those races and the company has not denied it.

This was dismissed in some circles as just a political stunt, since Burns’ request didn’t include APS’ parent company, Pinnacle West. I think that’s a misreading of Burns and his intent.
