A divided Chandler City Council has endorsed a pay raise for the mayor and Council members beginning in 2017.
The proposal, the subject of an initial public hearing and vote Dec. 10, would raise the mayor’s salary to $55,500 from $50,242.50 annually. City Council member pay would increase from $29,435 to $32,500.
The Council voted 5-2 for tentative approval to the proposal, which still faces a final vote, possibly in January.
