Arizona now ranks as the 14th most populous state passing Massachusetts in the latest Census tally. Massachusetts’ latest population estimate is 6.79 million.
Arizona’s population grew by 1.5 percent from Census Bureau’s estimate last year. That ranks eighth among U.S. states for numerical growth. Arizona ranks ninth for percentage population growth.
Texas (490,036), Florida (365,703), California (352,527) and Georgia (117,728) gained the most residents since 2014.
