City Manager Jim Thompson plans to retire this August after more than 30 years of public service
Thompson, 52, said it was time to take a break and decipher what he wanted to do next. He said he’s given a six-month notice to the Casa Grande City Council so they have time to figure out their next steps before he leaves.
The retirement marks the end of almost 30 years in the public sector for Thompson, having begun as asstant city manager for the City of Sterling in Colorado.
