Gilbert denies fluoride problem led to director placed on leave

Greg Tilque

Gilbert’s development services director, Greg Tilque, was placed on administrative leave Thursday after 24 years with the town, reports the East Valley Tribune

It was unclear why the action was taken, but a town spokeswoman Jennifer Alvarez said it’s not related to the town’s fluoridation incident from last summer.

In late August, it was discovered that the water supply from Gilbert’s North Water Treatment Plant had not been treated with fluoride for more than a year. The incident resulted in the resignation of the public works director and the dismissal of the town’s water manager.
