Pinal approves development fee ordinance

To build or not to build; that will be the question for developers when approaching Pinal County. And of course, business always comes down to money.

Developers will have a keen eye on what amount of money the county wants to charge in development impact fees. Last week, the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve a new development fee ordinance.

An impact fee schedule was approved by the board in February and goes into effect May 9. However, until last week, the board had yet to approve a new fee ordinance, which in essence governs the process of how those fees are applied. It also includes the ability to challenge the fee schedule in cases of unusual developments that may require alternative fees.
