Scottsdale could face a nasty court battle with a tennis resort over plans to condemn part of the property and build a fire station near Indian Bend and Hayden roads.
Mayor Jim Lane calls it a “matter of life and death” while the resort owner has threatened to take the matter to the U.S. Supreme Court and make the project the “most expensive” fire station ever built in the city.
Robert Hing, the owner of Scottsdale Resort and Tennis Club, said he is under contract to sell the resort property and an adjacent vacant lot to a developer that wants the land for a 148-unit senior-housing complex.
