Fom the Rose Law Group Growlery

Muscle cramps, dizziness, confusion, organ meltdown, death.
The killer: Excessive heat.
A familiar trailer on certain TV shows featuring daring-do is “Do not try this at home.” It’s our way of reminding ourselves to not be stupid.
Another way to prevent or reduce self-harm is to enact laws designed to ban stupidity. Speed limits, for example, say the faster you go, the more likely you’ or another driver could be injured or killed in a wreck.
Phoenix, nevertheless, will keep its hiking trails open in extreme heat after heartburn from hikers to a proposal to close paths in the city’s parks and preserves when temperatures reach a non-scientifically established 110 degrees.
The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Board says it wants more information before establishing policy on the issue.
Wouldn’t hiker deaths be sufficient information to justify a Stupid Hiker Law?
Hats off to the board, however, for prohibiting, albeit temporarily, dogs on the hiking trails when temps go above 100 degrees.
