Ducey defends Iraq war, but calls world less safe

Gov. Doug Ducey said the decision to invade Iraq after 9/11 was not a mistake despite the fact that there were no weapons of mass destruction found, the excuse President Bush gave for the war.

The governor, talking to reporters ahead of the 15th anniversary of the 9-11 terrorist attacks, said he believes the world is less safe today than it was at the time, citing the fighting going on in the Middle East.

But Ducey denied that any of that is the fault of the United States for going in and destabilizing countries like Iraq and Afghanistan, paving the way for the rise of groups like ISIS.
