The Congress on Wednesday held two key votes in the wind-down of the 2016 session. The House and Senate voted 342-85 and 72-26, respectively to pass H.R. 5325, which funds the government through Sept. 30, 2017.
Republican Reps. Gosar, Franks and Schweikert voted nay on the funding bill. Democrat Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick did not vote.
In the Senate, Sens, McCain and Flake split their votes on the funding measure, with Flake voting nay.
Both senators voted for S 2040, which overrode President Obama’s veto of the bill to deter terrorism and permit victims of 9/11 and other terrorist actions to sue for damages.
In the House, Democrat Grijalva voted against the override, while Democrat Kirkpatrick did not vote.
