Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake met with several small-business owners last week to discuss the flood of disability lawsuits affecting thousands of businesses across the country.
Flake stopped at Kerby’s Furniture in Mesa and Homewood Suites by Hilton in Scottsdale, both of which were defendants of “drive-by” lawsuits, in which attorneys use the American with Disabilities Act to their advantage.
“When they file these lawsuits, they paint the business owners as not wanting to comply, and that’s just not the case,” Flake said.
