Arizona in good shape for infrastructure needs, report says

The need to increase federal funding for roads and bridges was a campaign issue, with incoming President Donald Trump promising to spur federal infrastructure spending over the next decade. Yet states continue to play an important role in repairs, upgrades and new projects, with Arizona in relatively good shape in this regard, according to a new report.

Arizona has the fourth-lowest backlog of estimated expenses for roads and bridges in need of repair, as a percentage of overall state budget revenue, said Moody’s Investors Service in a January study.
