Some Oasis at Magic Ranch residents who sued their homeowners’ association last year have settled their case, and one plaintiff said he’s optimistic for better things ahead for the community.
Residents complained that at the association’s last two annual meetings, D.R. Horton home builders submitted a bloc of votes to swing the election, and they sued to have the builder’s 2016 votes thrown out. Their attorney said at that time, the builder submitted its choices on a single sheet of paper, which shouldn’t have been counted as votes.
Oasis at Magic Ranch is a major master-planned community on Hunt Highway between Florence and San Tan Valley. Although outside the town limits, Oasis residents have Florence addresses.
