The Toltec School District is close to settling a number of civil suits it filed in a pursuit to buy land for future development.
Starting in 2015, the school district filed more than a dozen civil complaints in Pinal County Superior Court against landowners it wanted to buy property from.
When a public entity seeks to acquire private land for its own development, it can file an eminent domain complaint in court if a landowner doesn’t respond to the offer.
