Maricopa economic development strategic plan calls for total buy-in

A report on the city’s economic development strategic plan has brought forth positive and negative signs about what could happen in the future.

The city council contracted IO.INC in December to create a comprehensive economic strategic plan that would outline the strengths and weaknesses of Maricopa’s economy and which industries the city could potentially compete for.

Ioanna Morfessis, IO.INC’s economic development strategist and former contracted economic development director, said she and her company have kept their promise made to the council when they were hired to finish the study on time and on budget at $62,500. In fact, they were three months early.
