An interceptor that successfully took down a missile over the Pacific Ocean on May 30 was built by Chandler’s Orbital ATK.

The interceptor was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, and it was able to take out another missile launched from the Marshall Islands.

The test was designed to prepare for a missile strike by North Korea. The totalitarian country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, has vowed to deploy a nuclear-armed missile capable of reaching the U.S.

Orbital ATK created the rocket motors that boosted the interceptor. The target fired from the Marshall Islands was also created by Orbital ATK.
