Report: Gunman in congressional baseball shooting had Arizona congressman on ‘hit list’

The man who opened fire Wednesday morning on members of a congressional baseball team had in his pocket a list of Republican lawmakers that included U.S. Rep. Trent Franks, according to media reports.

Franks, R-Ariz., confirmed during an on-air interview with CNN that he had been contacted by Capitol Police about the list. But he declined to say anything more about it.

“I don’t want to do anything that makes Capitol Police’s job more difficult,” he said.
