While urbanization is the trend for many Americans, others are gravitating towards smaller cities for more space, shorter commutes, and greater affordability, among other perks.
WalletHub analysts compared more than 1,200 U.S. cities with populations ranging from 25,000 to 100,000 based on 33 livability metrics. Their highest ranking small city was Princeton, N.J., which also ranked first in economic health. Lexington, Mass. came in second, followed by Leawood, Kan., which ranked first in affordability.
