Former congressman tells Pinal board coming year will also be tough

Things might seem dark in Washington, D.C., with strong partisanship, but according to lobbyists for the Pinal County Board of Supervisors, there is reason for hope.

Former Congressman Jim Kolbe addressed the board at Wednesday’s meeting along with federal lobbyist Steve Bloch on what is going on in Washington.

His message: We have been through a difficult year. Next year will also be difficult.

“This is the most tumultuous and unusual time that I’ve seen in the 22 years that I served in Congress, plus the 10 that I have been around there since that time,” Kolbe said. “Over the last 30 years I don’t think we’ve experienced anything quite like what is going on in Washington today.”
