A Pinal County woman continues to file dozens of lawsuits in Arizona and California against hotels she claims violate her civil rights.
In the past six months, Theresa Brooke has filed at least 18 complaints in federal court in Arizona against various hotels for not meeting standards set in the Americans with Disabilities Act.
More than 60 ADA complaints have been filed by Brooke in California’s federal courts over the past year. Some of these were later voluntary dismissed by the plaintiff.
One of the complaints is against Siegel Suites Select, an extended-stay hotel located at Florence Boulevard and Cacheris Court. Brooke accuses the Casa Grande business of not providing an ADA-compliant lift at its swimming pool.
It’s a similar accusation found in the many lawsuits Brooke has filed against California businesses. According to the Desert Sun, more than 30 hotels received complaints from Brooke in 2016 for not having a pool lift available to disabled guests.
