The city council has decided not to disband the Downtown Advisory Commission.
According to city ordinance, the purpose/duty of the commission, which was established in 2015, is to discuss and provide recommendations upon matters of concern that implement the city’s strategic objectives for the downtown area, and to prepare and submit to the city council recommendations for the enhancement of the downtown area.
The reason that this came before the council is because in December Councilman Dan Snyder brought up how he felt that this commission might not be doing what it needed to be so it may need to be disbanded.
