Gannett settles EEOC disability discrimination lawsuit in Phoenix

US-equal-employment-opportunity-commission2The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has settled a disability discrimination lawsuit against Gannett Company Inc., which owns the Arizona Republic and KPNX-TV Channel 12 in Phoenix.

The lawsuit, which also names Gannett Media Technologies Inc., charges the company with firing an employee because she has bipolar disorder. Filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona in Phoenix, the lawsuit said Gannett hired Robin Parker-Garcia at its Tempe facility as an application support analyst.
