Seven people sat in comfortable armchairs the morning of May 8 at the Glendale Renaissance Hotel, and they discussed the West Valley lifestyle and what they believe it takes to build a great community.
Before they were asked for their thoughts about the West Valley, Karrin Taylor Robson with Arizona Strategies took the panel members back in time and spoke of the inequities the area west of Central Avenue in Phoenix had experienced for the past 40 years. Raised in Mesa, Robson recounted the transportation infrastructure funds that poured into the East Valley while the West Valley languished in its farm fields and the promise of a freeway to link Interstates 10 and 17 farther west and north in the Valley.
