What the home building community thinks about the California solar mandate. The new requirement could mean the “difference between a person being able to qualify to build a home or not.” OR: With electricity bills in California skyrocketing, it could be a “welcome addition for many buyers.” Head honchos from Lennar and the California Building Industry Association weigh in on the impact of the new rule, in Solar Power World. http://bit.ly/2K0eOuk

In vogue: Two more home builders are merging. “The purchase of Wade Jurney Homes by Century Communities means the creation of one of the largest home builders in the U.S.,” resulting in a “geographic expansion” that includes “the Midwest, Arizona and Texas” where Century has “already begun acquiring lots.” HousingWire via Professional Builder. http://bit.ly/2I4rKxt

[OPINION] Sen. Bob Worsley is done with Arizona politics. Here’s what he hopes we learn from that. “Bob Worsley is one of a handful of moderate Republicans in the Arizona Legislature. But he decided not to run again.” And who better to explain the decision to bow out than Bob Worsley himself. Also from AZCentral, this RELATED item: “Attorney General says his mother’s name was forged on Arizona Senate candidate’s petition.” ALSO available, this from AZ Cap Times: “Kirkpatrick, attorney trade barbs over her residency.” And just when you thought we were finished adding on articles ad nauseam, here’s a little something from PinalCentral: “GOP CD1 candidate’s petitions challenged.” To collect all four stories, tap it! http://bit.ly/2M2NTP6
