Johnson Utilities has filed an exception disputing Administrative Law Judge Sarah Harping’s proposed order for the Arizona Corporation Commission to appoint an interim manager to Johnson Utilities.
The commission is set to hold a special hearing Tuesday and will possibly vote to appoint an interim manager.
The towns of Queen Creek and Florence have filed to become the interim manager. Florence Unified School District, the city of Chandler, the city of Phoenix and the town of Gilbert have all filed letters in support of the towns being appointed as interim managers.
“Both Queen Creek and Florence operate complex and comparable scaled utilities. Their experience will be of value in ensuring the public health and safety standards continue to be met,” reads the letter filed in the docket signed by Gilbert Mayor Jenn Daniels.
