Pinal County Supervisors approve lower property tax rate

The tax rate for Pinal County will continue its downward trend as property valuations go up.

The Pinal County Board of Supervisors set the primary property tax rate at $3.83 for the 2018-19 fiscal year. This brings the rate down from 2017-18 to the levels seen in 2016-17.

The Pinal County portion of total property taxes accounts for 26 cents on the dollar, down from 31 when compared to 2010-11.

Primary assessed valuation increased 5.2 percent from the last fiscal year, allowing the county to lower the rate without losing revenue.
