Kevin Cavanaugh, who lost the Republican primary election for justice of the peace by 14 votes, is criticizing how the county conducted the recent election.
In a statement to PinalCentral, the candidate takes aim at the Pinal County Recorder’s Office.
“The people of Pinal County, no matter their political stripe, deserve to have better management of elections, keeping free and fair elections is integral to keeping our Representative Republic,” wrote Cavanaugh, who lost to state Rep. Doug Coleman.
Cavanaugh had wanted to know how many ballots were rejected by Pinal County and see if any of these votes could be restored. He claims he was told by the county that no early ballots were rejected, which he finds “highly unusual.”
