Kate Gallego’s Harvard education paid off Monday.
She easily outsmarted her rivals during the first mayoral debate, which gave Phoenix residents a glimpse of the four vying to lead Arizona’s capital city.
The former Phoenix councilwoman commanded an understanding of issues facing the city, from a future water shortage to pension reform to homelessness and the south Phoenix light rail extension.
The woman did her homework and delivered a message that she’s ready to tackle the complexities of the nation’s fifth-largest city.
That wasn’t the case with her three rivals.
