The Diamondbacks’ 6-2 loss to the Colorado Rockies had barely ended before reliever Brad Ziegler had taken to Twitter to voice his displeasure at what he saw as a game-altering mistake by the replay umpires in New York on Friday night.

Ziegler couldn’t understand how anyone could watch Charlie Blackmon’s slide into second base in the eighth inning and not see that Blackmon made contact with Diamondbacks shortstop Nick Ahmed by throwing his arms skyward. Instead of an inning-ending double play, the Rockies proceeded to break open a tie game by scoring four times.

“I mean,” Ziegler told reporters, “I think it’s pretty clear, at least by the letter of the law, that it’s an illegal slide.”

BOX SCORE: Rockies 6, Diamondbacks 2
