Sundt Construction, Inc. celebrated the completion of the City of Mesa’s Signal Butte Water Treatment Plant at a dedication on Saturday. The $103.6-million-dollar water treatment plant treats Colorado River water supplied via the Central Arizona Project canal to drinking water standards.
“Our team remained dedicated to deliver water prior to peak summer demands under a compressed schedule and worked very hard to accomplish this project in a safe and timely manner,” said Rob Infantino, Sundt’s project director. “The project was located in the middle of a large neighborhood, and our project team considered all of its surroundings when planning work activities.”
The project included the construction of an operations building, raw water flow control and PH adjustment facility, ballasted flocculation facilities, ozone generators, ozone contactors, deep-bed biological filtration facilities, solids residuals facilities, mechanical dewatering facilities, chemical buildings and improvements to the existing electrical building and standby power generation. Site improvements included roads, parking, drainage facilities, fencing, landscaping, and site lighting.
