North Phoenix’s Tatum Boulevard between Loop 101 and Bell Road is host to a wide range of development types including multiple plant nurseries, the Musical Instrument Museum, a horse park and a spiritual center.
While Tatum is largely commercial, an assortment of single-family neighborhoods stretch from the road on either side.
If development applications tell the tale, the north Phoenix neighborhood is set to experience several changes over the coming year. And the demolition of the New Vision Center for Spiritual Living to build a four-story, 160 unit assisted-living community is high on the list.
Some residents are concerned the project might heighten existing community strains and pose new issues.
Plans for the new development
The facility, set to be built on the 3.44-acre lot on the southwest corner of Robert E. Lee Street and Tatum Boulevard, would be a MorningStar senior living development.
