‘Saturday Night Live’ spoofs Kyrsten Sinema as ‘Kooky Arizona Lady’

By Perry Vandell | Arizona Republic

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema found herself in the national spotlight again when she — and a number of other female lawmakers — were parodied in a “Saturday Night Live” sketch titled “Women of Congress.”

The sketch showed Sinema, D-Ariz. — flanked by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.; Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.; Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich.; and Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif. — among others. They were all garbed in white dresses like many actual lawmakers wore to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address last week as a tribute to suffragists.
