Update: Goodyear City Council on Monday evening unanimously approved a development agreement that intends to allow Microsoft Corp. to begin development on its 279-acre site on a fast-track schedule.
The Council meeting included very little discussion about the details of Microsoft’s plan development in the West Valley city. Council members and the mayor expressed enthusiasm for the move by the tech giant to bring a major development to the area.
While the development agreement does not specify any number of jobs to be created in the deal, Councilwoman Sheri Lauritano said she was looking forward to Microsoft creating “tech jobs” in the city.
Jordan Rose, the attorney representing Microsoft said the company was looking forward to a “great relationship” with Goodyear.
