Drink up, Arizona, it’s lemonade, not milk

The Arizona House on Thursday ignored the state’s dairy industry and voted to make lemonade the state drink. The bill (HB2692) came at the request of a Gilbert student who wants Arizona to join 27 other states that have adopted state drinks. They are, according to Wikipedia:

Alabama      Conecuh Ridge Whiskey (State Spirit)

Arkansas     Milk

Delaware     Milk

Florida         Orange juice

Kentucky     Milk (State Drink)  Ale-8-One(An original Kentucky soft drink)

Louisiana    Milk

Maine            Moxie

Maryland     Milk

Massachusetts       Cranberry juice

Minnesota   Milk

Mississippi  Milk

Nebraska     Milk (State Beverage) Kool-Aid (State Soft Drink)

New Hampshire   Apple cider

New York    Milk

North Carolina      Milk

North Dakota         Milk

Ohio   Tomato juice

Oklahoma    Milk

Oregon         Milk

Pennsylvania         Milk

Rhode Island         Coffee milk

South Carolina      Milk (State Beverage)
