Big League Dreams builder pledges fixes in Gilbert

The town and Mortenson Construction are working on an agreement to repair the structural flaws at Big League Dreams Gilbert.

The sudden and surprising development comes a month after the town filed a lawsuit against the Chandler construction company over crumbling concrete and other problems at the baseball complex at Power and Elliot roads.

Company publicist Cameron Snyder sent The Republic a statement issued from Gilbert Town Manager Patrick Banger and Chris Norcross, vice president and general manager of Mortenson Construction.

The statement reads: “The Town of Gilbert and Mortenson Construction have reached an agreement to stay a lawsuit involving repair issues with the Big League Dreams Sports Park. We are cooperatively developing a plan that would allow for work to begin onsite within the next several weeks and with no disruption to park activities. Our goal is to complete all required work as quickly as possible and that the teams, fans and community continue to enjoy the activities that the sports park provides.”
