A 19-year-old son of Kingman Mayor John Salem faces up to a year in jail and a probation term when he is sentenced April 2 for his part in a marijuana growing operation.
James Trenton Salem pleaded guilty to a charge of facilitation of production of marijuana.
Authorities dropped several felony charges as a part of a deal that resulted in Salem’s Feb. 26 plea.
Salem was among three men arrested last August when authorities seized dozens of plants being grown in a home.
According to prosecutor Tom Godfrey, Salem’s crime will be treated as a felony if he successfully completes probation but as a felony if he does not.
