Is the City of Glendale being held hostage by the National Hockey League? Are we just a big bargaining chip?
“I love hockey, but I cannot stand the NHL,” Coyotes season ticket holder Brian Ledezma said. “Since 2009, I feel that they are using this team and city to their advantage.”
Playing in their 17th season in Phoenix/Glendale, is this the end of the road for the Coyotes and the beginning of the Seattle, Oklahoma City or Markham, Canada (insert nickname here)?
The team has been owned by the National Hockey League since 2009, and to hear them talk about it, they want hockey in Glendale and they claim they want it to succeed.
Or do they?
Let’s look at some facts. The Tampa Bay Lightning, Atlanta Thrashers (now the Winnipeg Jets) and the Buffalo Sabers are the last three franchises that have been sold.
